Collections

What is Collections?

“Collections” is simply the two poetry collections I released in 2008 and 2011.

I don’t get it?

If I had to say something about the poetry I do, the poetry I write is simply the presentation of an aesthetic of just seeing again, seeing for the first time. And because of that, the risk is there for it to alienate you rather than invite you to enter the making of meaning. The risk is there for you not to care.

Words become beings, sounds become beings. It’s about feeling the neglected, finding what is forgettable. The point of my poetry is the act of seeing again. Poetry as a prelude, hello, a good morning. It’s just about inviting you to wake the dawn.

beneath here is my second collection of 11 poems released in 2011. It’s just more of going through movement, being small in big spaces, finding placement, just being existence.

And in that a little play with sound, movement, seeing words as gifts. And looking at everything, including words, from the fringes, and looking at, instead of participating in, the ambiguous starkness of the world.

The Oasis of My Nation is my first collection of 9 poems released September 2008. I wrote it during grad school. It was when I first began to just embrace using words to magnify the world, even at the risk of losing my reader. I decided it may have even been public self talk, a public monologue. I think I just wanted to offer you some sense of giving life to dormant things, I wanted to magnify the world and become small and learn to see and invite you to see too. And kind of hide love inside, deep.
