Father, I Will Write What I Don’t Know

Dear Planet,

Today I’ll find your sequence and discover my first doors.

If I have courage it is the courage to be thoughtful.

I try to write. This is what I’ve come to know about writing
what I know.

The dangerous thing about listening is the sudden, shining poem.

Is there anything more, earth, you dare me to imperfectly say?

When we’re writing we’re fighting. (This is what I know about writing.)
This is what I know to fight.

Creating is not the same as arranging and neither is the same as naming.

I’m a transcriber. I take note and settle on the words. I sequence the universe.

Say what you thought you heard.
